I graduated in the year , and I was told, upon starting, that by the time I graduated, whatever I’d learned would be obsolete. I want to get very good at video editing. Learning from on line tutorials is hard for me. How many screens do I need anyway? Three is not enough! For me, this is the unsinkable way to go. This series is laid out impeccably and helpfully.

You have to really want to! You may do some head banging against the wall, but that is not the fault of the book. You are going to have to bear down and surmount problems. Quick example: There is a CD included in the paperback copy of the book make sure the issue you get is exactly right for the version of Premier Pro you are working with. Do you know I’d actually forgotten however that I do not have a CD drive anymore?

This should not have been a problem: There are links and instructions for downloading missing materials from “PeachPit.

I have solved the problem, but that is what I am trying to say. It is NOT going to be smooth sailing for the novice. It is going to be hard and take dedication and determination. I noticed this was the version but I figured it should still be compatible with premiere pro The lesson files are not recognized. Hopefully I can get an exchange for the edition.

Daughter needed this book for her college class and it was much cheaper here than her college bookstore. Very difficult to follow. The author would rather impress you with knowledge of the product than take you through a exercise step by step to completion. The author could learn a lot from Scott Kelby. Buy the paperback version that will have a cd or the access code to download content on peachpit.

I cannot find that access code anywhere with my kindle version order. Don’t even know how to contact the publisher for support. Worst purchase ever. Stay away. It’s in great condition and it’s clear that the person who is selling actually cares about the material that they are selling!

I’m learning photoshop so I will be able to edit my artwork before printing it. This book breaks everything down into single steps, which are very easy to follow and understand. Though I have a great visual memory, I have other memory issues and so it takes me longer than average to learn new steps on the computer.

If I can do this, anyone can. Once you purchase the book, you register it at the PeaachPit website, then download image files- one folder for each chapter. They show you an “end” photo for each project, so you know what you are making. They also provide the start image s you will be manipulating in a given chapter. Once you register your book, you can access a copy online as well.

It’s the same text, but with videos added, showing how to do each step. I usually read each chapter in the paper copy first, then access the online book so I have it on the screen next to my photoshop window. I will likely go through the book again after I’m all finished just to solidify everything. I have valued everything I have learned thus far. Top critical review. I think it’s an okay book for what you learn, but overall, this could have been done much better.

I love this book. First of all, I have no experience with Photoshop. This book gets down to the basics without a lot of theory. Each exercise is challenging and very interesting. You could pay a learning center thousands of dollars to learn Photoshop and not learn as much as you will from this book.

It is great. For the record, I’ve never used Photoshop in the past. However this book has been really great at showing me the basics steps by step. I’ve been taking an online course in a local college and this books has been a great teacher. The only drawback backs i found were – The images in the book are really small and In October Photoshop CC got an update which changed some of the functionality.

Either way, great book. One person found this helpful. It is chock full of information pertinent to the subject. It starts at a simple point that any student can grasp. It progresses slowly to a point that covers most of the program being described.

It is a soft covered tome measuring 9 inches high by about 7. It is comfortable to read. It has pages. The book starts of simply by having a short section on installing Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Bridge.

This section also contains some instruction on starting Photoshop. Also discussed are the lesson files provided. Adobe Press gives the reader instructions on downloading these files onto your computer. They are used in each chapter to work through the projects presented in each chapter.

Additionally, a Web Edition of the book can be downloaded as well. There are Review Questions at the end of each Chapter.
